About Wires

The Logical to Physical Assistant gives you an overview of the wires in your logical and physical systems. In each column, a value and a symbol appear.

Wire Columns

When you click the Wire tab, the following columns appear.


Column	Description	Symbol
2D Instance	Displays the name of the logical wire or cable. If no logical wire or cable exists for the selected row, the cell is empty. Note: If the logical wire or cable has children, you can click the arrow on the left-side of the name to display or hide their hierarchical link.	—
System	Displays the name of the logical harness or logical system in which the logical wire or cable is.	—
Expected 3D Parent	Displays the name of the expected physical parent. The expected physical parent can be: The candidate that the L2P_Compute3DParent business rule returns. For more information, see Compute 3D Physical Reference (L2P_Compute3DReference) The candidate that you select using Set Parent . For more information, see Selecting Parents. If your logical wire or cable is the child of a logical wire or cable, the Expected 3D Parent is returned from its logical parent.	: a value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : the logical wire or cable cannot be placed under the Expected 3D Parent. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
3D Parent	Displays the name of the physical parent of the physical conductor or conductor group.	: a value is retrieved. : the 3D Parent is different from the Expected 3D Parent. : the physical parent is missing.
Expected Segregation	Displays the segregation value that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current Segregation	Displays the segregation value that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the Current Segregation is the same as the Expected Segregation. : the Current Segregation is different from the Expected Segregation. : no value is retrieved.
Expected External Diameter	Displays the external diameter that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current External Diameter	Displays the external diameter that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the Current External Diameter is the same as the Expected External Diameter. : the Current External Diameter is different from the Expected External Diameter. : the value could not be retrieved.
Expected Bend Radius	Displays the bend radius that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current Bend Radius	Displays the bend radius that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the Current Bend Radius is the same as the Expected Bend Radius. : the Current Bend Radius is different from the Expected Bend Radius. : no value is retrieved.
Expected Linear Mass	Displays the linear mass that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is the same as the expected value. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire.
Current Linear Mass	Displays the linear mass that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the Current Linear Mass is the same as the Expected Linear Mass. : the Current Linear Mass is different from the Expected Linear Mass. : no value is retrieved.
Expected from Device	Displays the name of the physical device or space that is returned from the From end of the logical wire or cable. For a conductor group, the cell is empty.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current from Device	Displays the cavity that is returned from the From end of the physical conductor. For conductor groups, the cell is empty.	: the Current from Device value is the same as the Expected from Device value. : the Current from Device value is different from the Expected from Device value. : no value is retrieved.
Expected from Cavity	Displays the name of the cavity that is returned from: The From end of the logical wire or cable. The L2P_Compute3DPort business rule. For more information, see Compute 3D Port (L2P_Compute3DPort).	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current from Cavity	Displays the cavity that is returned from the From end of the physical conductor. For conductor groups, the cell is empty.	: the Current from Cavity value is the same as the Expected from Cavity value. : the Current from Cavity value is different from the Expected from Cavity value. : no value is retrieved.
Expected to Device	Displays the name of the physical device or space that is returned from the To end of the logical wire or cable. For a conductor group, the cell is empty.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current to Device	Displays the 3D space that is returned from the To end of the physical conductor or conductor group. For a conductor group, the cell is empty.	: the Current to Device value is the same as the Expected to Device value. : the Current to Device value is different from the Expected to Device value. : no value is retrieved.
Expected to Cavity	Displays the name of the cavity that is returned from: The To end of the logical wire or cable. The L2P_Compute3DPort business rule. For more information, see Compute 3D Port (L2P_Compute3DPort).	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current to Cavity	Displays the cavity that is returned from the From end of the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the Current to Cavity value is the same as the Expected to Cavity value. : the Current to Cavity value is different from the Expected to Cavity value. : no value is retrieved.
Expected from 3D Space	Displays the 3D space that is returned from the From end of the logical device.	: the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end of the conductor or conductor group are the same. : the Expected from 3D Space value is not found.
Expected to 3D Space	Displays the 3D space that is returned from the To end of the logical device.	: the two 3D spaces that are defined on each end of the conductor or conductor group are the same. : indicates that the Expected to 3D Space value is not found.
Synchronization Status	Displays the state of the selected row. There are five possible states for a row: Logical and physical facets are in place: both the physical and logical data are present. Logical in session, physical is missing: the physical data is missing. Logical is missing, physical in session: the logical data is missing. Both logical and physical are missing: both the logical and physical data are missing. Logical and physical in session, but wrong implement link: no implement link exists between the physical conductor or conductor group and the logical wire or cable. If an implement link exists, it indicates that the physical conductor or conductor group is missing.	Red row: both the logical and physical data are missing. Note: The color red indicates that the row is empty. You cannot edit or delete the row. Yellow row: One of the data is missing. The implement link is missing. Green: both the logical and physical data are present.
3D Feature	Displays the name of the physical conductor or conductor group.	—
Specification Type	Displays the type of the physical object that exists or that you are creating There are two possible values: Conductor conductor group	—
Expected Reference Part Number	Displays the predefined part number that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current Reference Part Number	For logical cables or wires, displays the predefined part number that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group. For physical conductors or conductors groups, displays the reference part number of the physical object.	: the value is the same as the expected value. : the value is different from the expected value. : no value is retrieved.
Expected Color	Displays the color that is returned from the logical wire or cable.	: the value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable. : no value is retrieved from a logical wire or cable.
Current Color	Displays the color that is returned from the physical conductor or conductor group.	: the value is the same as the expected value. : the value is different from the expected value. : no value is retrieved.

Commands for Wires

The following commands are available in the Wire tab.


Command	Action	Multiselection	Condition
Set Parent	Lets you select an electrical physical system in the tree or create an electrical physical system to define as the parent of the physical conductor or conductor group. For more information, see Selecting Parents.		—
Auto Place	Creates automatically the physical conductor or conductor group, and also creates links between the logical wire or cable and: The physical conductor or conductor group The parent of the physical conductor or conductor group The attributes and ends of the physical conductor or conductor group come from the logical wire or cable. Auto Place also creates all the parent conductor groups that are required to create the physical conductors and conductor groups for the selected rows. For more information, see Placing a 3D Object Using Auto Place.		—
Delete	Removes the physical conductor or conductor group from the selected rows and removes the children of the deleted physical conductor and conductor group from their rows. For more information, see Deleting 3D Objects.		Are available if you select a row in which a physical conductor or conductor group exists.
Synchronize	Updates the attributes of the physical conductor or conductor group in the selected row. For physical conductors and conductors groups, the synchronization retrieves the following information from the logical objects: The value of the attributes of your conductors or conductor groups. The end devices or cavities of your physical conductors. Note: If you analyze a conductor or conductor group that is a child of a parent conductor or conductor group, then the parent is also analyzed. For more information, see Synchronizing the Attributes of the Physical Objects.	
Reconcile	Creates missing links between a logical wire or cable and a physical conductor or conductor group. Reconcile has two modes: automatic and manual. In both cases, the candidates are found using the following criteria: The object candidates come from the first reference-reference implement link context. The object candidates do not have an existing links to any objects. Another optional criteria can also apply to search the candidates: The name of the object matches with the name of the object candidate. The links that it can create are: The implement links between a logical wire or cable and the electrical system that is the parent of the physical conductor or conductor group. The feature links between a logical wire or cable and a physical conductor or conductor group. Note: The links respect the following criteria: A child of a logical or physical object can only have an implement link to a child of a logical or physical object. A logical cable can only have an implement link to a physical conductor. A logical wire can only have an implement link to a physical conductor. For more information, see Create an Implement Link.	
Delete Links	Deletes the links that exist between a logical wire or cable and a physical conductor or conductor group. The links that it deletes are: The implement links between a logical wire or cable and the electrical system that is the parent of the physical conductor or conductor group. The feature links between a logical wire or cable and a physical conductor or conductor group. For more information, see Delete an Implement Link.		Is available if you select a row in which an implement link or a feature link exists.
Change Parent	Moves the physical conductor or conductor group from the Current 3D Parent to the Expected 3D Parent. For more information, see Assigning New Parents to Physical Objects.		Is available if you select rows in which: The Expected 3D Parent and 3D Parent of the selected row are different. The Expected 3D Parent is compatible for moving the physical conductor or conductor group.
Conductor Routing Assistant	Lets you route and modify your conductors or conductor groups. When you exit Conductor Routing Assistant , all of your modifications are saved. For more information, see Working with the Conductor Routing Assistant.		Is available if you select a row in which a physical conductor or conductor group exists.
Set Predefined Part Number	Lets you apply a predefined part number on your logical instance.		Is available only in Electrical Systems Design. For more information, see Electrical Systems Design User's Guide: Assigning a Predefined Part Number to Logical Objects.
