Disconnecting Segments

You can delete the connection between a device and a segment.

Note: You cannot disconnect segments in the same branch, but you can delete connections between two segments in different branches.


Before you begin: Open an electrical geometry with connected electrical devices.
  1. From the Branch section of the action bar, click Disconnect Segment .
  2. Select the end of the segment you want to disconnect.
    The app finds the end closest to your selection.

    Moving the pointer over the segment end highlights the end and shows the status of the connection.



    • The green circle indicates that the segment and connector are geometrically connected.
    • indicates that the two are electrically connected.
    • An arrow shows the direction of connection.

    The segment and connector are disconnected.



    Important: Where a geometric link exists, there must be more than two route points in the branch to be able to delete the connection.

    Note: For the case of geometrical link, the branch geometry is modified to last but one routing element (as shown above). For distant link, only the pointing extremity is selectable for the Disconnect Segment command. And only the distant link is removed (as shown below).
