Inserting Conductors with Customized Types

You can use the Electrical customizable feature resource to create conductors with customized types and attributes.

Important: You cannot add multiple customized types to a conductor.


Before you begin:
  • Create customized types in the Know-how Apps Components app.

    For more information, see Know-how Apps Components User's Guide: Creating Types.

  • Assign your know-how apps components to a resource table in the Electrical Features Customization resources resource set.

    For more information, see Data Setup User's Guide: Creating a Resource Table.

  • Open a product containing an electrical physical system.
  1. From the Conductor section of the action bar, click Conductor .

    The Conductor Creation dialog box appears.

  2. Define the properties of the conductor.

    For more information, see Inserting Conductors.

  3. Under Customized Conductor Type Selection, click Conductor Type.

    Important: The command is unavailable if:
    • No resource is assigned in Electrical customizable feature.
    • No customized type in Electrical customizable feature corresponds to a Conductor type.

    The Types Browser dialog box appears. Under the Conductor node, the available customized types are displayed in hierarchical order.
  4. Select a customized type, and then click OK.

    Tip: You can type a string in the Filter box to search for a type.

    In the Conductor Creation dialog box, the name of the selected customized type appears next to Customized Conductor.
  5. Click Create One or Create Several, and then click Close.
    The customized conductor is created. In the tree, under the conductor's node, a node displays the name of the selected customized type and its attributes (Variables node).
  6. Optional: To remove a customized type or to add a different customized type, do either of the following:
    • In the Conductor Creation dialog box, right-click the customized type and select Reset Type.
    • In the tree, right-click the customized type and select Delete.

Note: The last used type is always preset in the dialog box when you add a new customized conductor to your electrical physical system.
