Device Definition Reference Table

The following table provides a definition and an example for each device you can create.

Shell An item used to assemble and protect one or more connectors.

Filler plugAn item that seals an unused cavity.

Generally used on connectors.

ContactAn item inserted within a cavity which is used to crimp conductors.

In context:

ConnectorAn item that provides an electrical interface between equipments, wiring harnesses, or cabling networks.-
Connector subtypesSingle insert connectorA connector which can be a receptacle or a plug.

SpliceA connector that connects conductors together.

StudA screw-type terminal in which the conductor is clamped under a nut.
