Placing and Connecting Harness Connectors Representations

You can place and connect a harness connector in a diagram view. The harness connector is stretched to match the component size to which it is connected.

You can connect a harness connector to a connector port or to another harness connector.

Before you begin: For the purpose of this scenario:
  • In a diagram view, create and place an equipment and an equipment connector.
  • In Data Setup, assign an harness connector representation to the harness connector.
Note: The harness connector can be placed and connected even if the connector port representation is not placed in the diagram view.
  1. Create a harness connector.

Note: If the harness connector already exists, right-click it and select Place in View.

Once you have validated the creation of your harness connector, its representation appears and follows your pointer.
  2. Click anywhere, and click Smart Positioning Harness Connector on the context toolbar.
  3. Select the equipment or a pin of the equipment connector.
The harness connector is placed and connected with the equipment connector. The pins are placed and aligned with the pin of the equipment connector, in the same order.
  4. Click anywhere to validate the position of the harness connector.
