Managing Pin Allocation

You can reserve several pins of a component for a specific usage. You can also remove a pin from a reservation which consists in giving a free status to the pin.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin:
  • Create an electrical component.
  • Define four electrical pins.

Manage Pin Allocation in Session

The Pin Allocation Management command lets you manage several pins of a component that are created in session.

  1. Select an electrical component in the tree.
  2. To reserve a set of pins, select one or several free pins in the pin selection tree or type a Pin number in the corresponding box and click Reserve.
  3. Select the new tab Rsrv 1. It contains the description of the first reservation.

    Note: The tree now contains only the reserved pins.

  4. To remove a pin from a reservation, select it in the pin selection tree and click Remove Pins / Update attributes.
  5. In Rsrv 1 tab, type a description in the Subtype box and click Remove / Update.

Manage Allocation of Saved Pins/Pins in Session

The Pin Allocation Management command lets you manage several pins of a component that are loaded in session or saved.

Before you begin: Load an existing system in session.
  1. Select a component.
  2. To reserve pins, select them in the pin selection tree or type a Pin number in the Reserve pins tab and click Reserve.
