Managing Cable

Defining Wire Attributes with a Color Identifier

During the cable creation, you can define color attributes for each wire when the Color option is selected in the cable creation dialog box.

This scenario takes as an example a cable comprising two cables. Each cable contains itself two wires. In the case of wires directly grouped under the cable, a color is applied to every wire.

Important: The number of color identifiers should be equal to the number of conductors or to the number of conductors × number of conductors by group.

Before you begin: The Color option is selected.
  1. When editing the cable properties, enter the desired colors in the Conductors Colors box. The rule can be defined by the Attributes Valuation Check (PLMAttributesValuationCheck) opening ID. .
  2. Click OK.

The color attributes appears in the instance name of each wire.

The color attribute also appears in the Color box of each wire's properties:

  • If two colors are defined: The two colors are applied for the two wires of the two groups.
  • If four colors are defined: a color attribute is applied to every wire.
