Inserting an Existing Diagram View

You can insert an existing diagram view containing shapes, annotations, symbols, and zones that are not linked to objects.

Before you begin:
  • Create a logical reference.
  • Under the logical reference, create a sheet and a diagram view (ViewGA. 1).
  • Create a second sheet under the logical reference.
  • in Data Setup Diagram Resources, define the Rule to Insert an Existing View resource by returning TRUE if the input view is ViewGA. For more information, see Rule to Insert an Existing View (Schematic_InsertExistingDifView).
  1. Click the sheet under which you want to insert the view.
  2. From the Edition section of the action bar, select Insert Existing View .

Note: The command is also available in the context menu of the sheet.

  3. Click the diagram view.
This selected view is a ViewGA so its reinstantiation is validated. A View-GA.2 is inserted under the sheet selected in Step 1.
