Components Display in Applicative Tree

Another view of the tree can be displayed, in which the components are grouped under different nodes. The display of these components in the applicative tree can be filter.

This page discusses:

Principle

In the applicative tree, the components are displayed under different nodes according to their type. Like in the extension node, this organization helps visualizing the links between the components:

  • cable-wire
  • cable group-cable
  • harness-connector
  • harness connector-port
  • net group-net
  • port-pin
  • terminal block-terminal
  • relay-content

To activate the applicative tree view, select Displayed in separate tree in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Electrical System Design > Applicative Tree tab. For more information, see Native Apps Preferences Guide: Applicative Tree.

Options Description

To display the electrical components in the applicative tree, right-click the system, and select Applicative Tree View. A diagram view needs to be activated beforehand.

The applicative tree can be filtered through three options:

IconOptionDescription
Display only objects not presented in any opened sheetThe components not represented in any opened diagram view are displayed.
Display only objects not presented in the active sheetThe components not represented in the active diagram view are displayed.
Display only objects presented in the active sheetThe components represented in the active diagram view are displayed.

Cable and Content

Cables and their content appear under the Wire node.

Cable Group

Only the father cable group is taken into account during the filtering process.

Disconnect and Harness Connector

They appear under the Connector node. If one port of a disconnect is displayed in a diagram view, the filtering process will modify the disconnect content shown in the applicative tree.

Harness and Content

The harness and all the components linked to it appear under the Harness node. When a filter is selected, the harness remains visible, only its children are impacted.

Disconnect

For each port linked to a harness, the disconnect is displayed under the harness.

When the disconnect is not linked to a harness through one of its ports, it appears under the Connector node.

Relay and Content

Relays and their content appear under the Equipment node. Selecting the WiringRepresentation or IERepresentation option modifies what is displayed in the applicative tree. For more information about these options, see Relay Representation.

Relay Representation

There are two different ways to create relays diagrams and so two possible types of display:

  • In electrotechnical diagrams, the relay itself is not represented, only the contacts and the operating device. In the applicative tree, only the contacts and the coil are taken into account in the filtering process. If all the children are placed, the relay is also considered as placed.
  • In wiring diagrams, the relay is fully represented with the contacts and the operating device. In the applicative tree, the relay is considered as placed in view only if the relay and all its children are placed in view.

Note: The display of the logical port aggregating the pins is not taken into account by the filtering options.

Net Group and Net

Net groups and nets appear under the Net node. When a net is linked to a net group, it appears under the net group and not directly under the Net node.

Terminal Block, Terminal Group and Terminal

Terminal blocks appear under the Connector node. When a terminal block is linked to another terminal block, it appears under the parent terminal block and not directly under the Connector node.

When a filter is selected, the display of a terminal block depend on the display of its children terminal blocks:

  • if a child is to be visible in the applicative tree, it appears in the context of its father hierarchy.
  • If there is no child to show, the terminal block itself appears depending on its status with the selected filter.

Note: Filters cannot be applied on ports.
