About Change Processes for Development Parts

For the release of development parts, Change Management supports all change processes that were previously available through DECO.

You can use CRs and COs to complete development phase parts and specifications. Once a CR is approved, a CO is created. A CA implements the changes and the CR/CO are used as promote the parts and specifications through their lifecycles. If a development phase part is released through a change process, its subsequent revisions, if there are any, must also be attached to a change object to be completed.

Note: DECO cannot be used to create change orders for development parts. However, existing change order requests that were created using DECO in versions before 2015x can still be released.

All change processes for releasing development phase parts are the same as for releasing production phase parts. For information, see the help topics under Change Management.

Note: Unlike production phase parts, development phase parts can be promoted to the Released State even if its child parts are "In Work".
