Deleting Specifications

You can search for one or more specifications across multiple collaborative spaces and delete them from the database all at the same time. You can delete part specifications CAD drawings, CAD models, drawing prints, or sketches.


Before you begin:

Required Responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader
  • App-specific: Component Engineer, Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer , Product Obsolescence Manager, Part Family Coordinator
To delete a specification:
  • The specification must be either a part specification, CAD drawing, CAD model, sketch, or drawing print.
  • The specification must be in the In Work state.
  • If the specification is attached to a part, the part must also be in the In Work state.
Notes:
  • To delete an uploaded specification file , you must have either the Author or Leader and be connected to or assigned to the same collaborative state that contains the specification.
  • To delete a part or specification that has a custom policy, navigate to My Engineering View, select the part or specification in the list, and click the Delete icon in the toolbar.
  1. Search for one or more specifications to delete. See Predefined Queries.
  2. Select one or more specifications in the search results.

    Note: Select only specifications. You cannot delete specifications and other object types (such as parts) at the same time.

  3. In the search results, either right-click the specification or click its down arrow and select Delete.

    Note: To delete multiple specifications, select the specifications, right-click your selection and select Delete.

The specification is removed from the search results and the database.
