Generating a Change Action

You can generate a change action for an interference simulation and interference metric.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open an interference simulation.

Generate a Change Action for an Interference Simulation

You can generate change action for an interference simulation.

  1. From the Interference section of the action bar, click Generate Change Action .
  2. In the Change Action Generation dialog box, click Yes.
The New Change Action dialog box prefilled with the information derived from the selected interference simulation.
    Option Description
Title It is prefilled with the name of the interference simulation.
Description It is prefilled with the description of the interference simulation. If the metric has no description, the description of the change action is prefilled with the name of the root product.
  3. Click Save as Draft or Begin Work.
    The change action is generated.

If the issue is generated on the selected interference simulation, the change action is attached to the resolved by field of the issue.

Note: When the change action is generated, the following are evaluated:
    • The change action referential is valuated with considered metrics.
    • The change action contexts are valuated with the interference simulation product context and filter, if any.
    • The change action proposed changes are valuated with all interfering parts of considered metrics.

If an interfering part is a fastener component, the fastener itself is added proposed changes, instead of the interfering fastener component.

When an issue is created on the same context as for change action,

Generate a Change Action for an Interference Metric

You can generate change action for an interference metric.

  1. Right-click an interference metric in the interference result list and select Generate Change Action .

You can also select the interference metric and, from the Interference section of the action bar, click Generate Change Action .

The New Change Action dialog box, prefilled with the information derived from the selected interference metric, appears.
    Option Description
Title It is prefilled with the name of the interference metric.
Description It is prefilled with the description of the interference metric. If the metric has no description, the description of the change action is prefilled with the name of the root product.
  2. Click Begin Work.
    The change action is generated.

If the issues are generated on each selected metric, the change action is attached to the resolved by field of the issue.
