Linking Parameters to Technological Tables

You can link the parameters to technological tables in the process of setting a mathematical formula.

This task is the step following the choice of the parameters.

Before you begin:
  • Select the parameters of interest.
  • Open the technological tables you want to reference.

  1. In the Type column, if necessary select String or Nominal Pipe Size as the parameter type.
  2. In the Linked Table column, click the No Link cell to display a list of all possible tables that can be linked.
  3. Select the table.
The table's name is now displayed in the cell.
Tip: In case the technological table to which you want to link the parameter is not open in your session, click Next then Finish to create the filter unit. Eventually open the table before editing the filter unit.
  4. In Linked Column, click the arrow to display all possible columns that can be linked and select the table column you want to reference.
The column's name is now displayed in the cell.

The new filter unit 'Unit1' contains two parameters: 'Standard' and 'Nominal Size'. 'Standard' has been linked to the NominalSize column of the Table_100 technological table.

  5. To move on to the last filter unit creation step, that is, the creation of the formula itself, click Next.

You now have defined all parameters useful for creating the formulas.
