Linking Technological Tables

Linking a column to a technological table means that the values of this column come from the linked column. You can link one or more columns to a technological table.

This task shows you how to:

Link a Column
Remove a Link

Before you begin: Open at least two technological tables.

Link a Column

Right-click the header of the column you need to link and select Edit .
The Edit Column Properties dialog box appears.
Tip: Double-clicking the column header provides a quicker access to the dialog box.
Select the arrow next to No Table in the dialog box.
A list of possible target technological tables appears. The app displays only technological tables that can be linked.

Important: To create links between objects, these must be open in your session.
Select the technological table you want.
If the link is valid, the icon appears on top of the linked column. Conversely, a red symbol invites you to edit an invalid link.
Click Apply or OK to confirm the operation.
The link is created. The values are now verified against the pointed column.
To assign one of the values defined in the table, double-click the cell of the linked column.
The list that appears contains all the values defined in the linked table.
Select a value.
The value is displayed in the cell.
Repeat the two previous steps as many times as you need to complete all cells.

Remove a Link

You can remove a link at any time.

Right-click the header of the column and select Edit .
Tip: Double-clicking the column header provides a quicker access to the dialog box.
The Edit Column Properties dialog box appears.
Click the arrow next to Table and select No Table .
Click Apply or OK to confirm the link removal.
When the removal is done, the icon is no longer displayed on the column, unless a link is mandatory for this column.

You can now assign the values of your choice in the column.
