Exporting Folders to 3D XML

You can export folders as 3D XML files to facilitate data exchange with remote sites or suppliers from Bookmark. You can export multiple folders to 3D XML.

  1. Open the expanded structure of a folder in the work area.
  2. Click Share > Export in the top bar.
    The Export window opens.
  3. In the Required area, do the following:
    1. In the Filename box, provide a name for the folder to be exported.

      The name of the folder in 3DEXPERIENCE is the default value of this field.

    2. Select a Target from the list.

      • Select File on disk if you want to export the folder to your local system.
      • Select Exchange space if you want to export the folder to an exchange space.

    3. Provide the location to which you want to export your folder in the Location box.

      Click to browse local folders and choose a path.

  4. In the Options area, do the following:
    1. Navigate to the General tab and do the following:

      • Select the Completion options from the list to choose how the folder must be exported. You can choose to export the file With all representations, With 3D Shape Representations only or Without any representation.
        Note: Favorites attached to folders cannot be exported.
      • Check Send Configuration.
      • check Propagate operations to all children.

    2. Navigate to the Manifest tab and provide the following information:

      • Your user name is available in the From box.
      • In the To box, provide the name of the user for whom the folder is exported.
      • The associated title is available in the Title box.
      • Provide comments in the Comment box.
      • Copyright information about the folder is available in the Copyright box.

    3. Navigate to the Report tab and do the following:

      • If you want to save a report of the action, check Save report.
      • Provide the location where you want to save the report in the Location box. Click to browse local folders and choose a path.

  5. Do either of the following:
    • Click Simulate if you want to view all the properties of the folder to be exported.
    • Click OK to save the settings made and export the folder to the specified location
    • Click Cancel if you do not want to export the folder with the current options.

The folder is exported and all the information related to this action is visible. You can also preview the detailed report of the action.
