Exporting Persistent Filters and Searches

You can easily facilitate data exchange with remote sites or suppliers using Exporting Persistent Filters or Searches. This operation enables you to export the result of persistent filters or searches into a 3D XML file.

Required baseline access roles: Author, Leader.

Before you begin:
  • The Export command is found by selecting Share > Export... > 3D XML or File....
  • Multiselection of persistent filters or searches for export is supported.
  • The search result displaying products can only be exported to 3D XML.
  • There is no change impacted on the import behavior for the generated 3D XML file.
  • The resulting references are exported with expanded children from the database along with all representations.
  • Export 3D XML for review is not available on filter and query.
  1. Select the persistent filters or searches in a search results list.
  2. Right-click the selected persistent filters or searches and select Share > Export... > 3D XML or File....
    The Export dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the Path and Name for the exported file.

You can also browse for the directory by clicking [...].

  4. To edit properties of the 3D XML file, click the (to be edited) text in any row.

You can view this ID card before importing the file. You do not need to enter data. Each of these attributes can be filled in with any data you choose. If you do not enter any data, a blank is saved (the text "to be edited" is not saved). The data is embedded in the 3D XML file, therefore, after export, you cannot interactively edit the data.

  5. Optional: Click Preview to see a list of the objects to be exported.
The Export Preview dialog box appears to list the resulting references with expanded children from the database with all its representations. Note: An error message is displayed, if the query list in the Export Preview dialog box displays any object other than Product.
  6. Optional: Click Close to return to the Export dialog box.
  7. Click OK to complete the export. For each reference to be duplicated, all its associated representations are duplicated as well

Important: There is no more support for old Search on 3DEXPERIENCE R2017x.
