Export of 3DEXPERIENCE Content with SolidEdge Master to 3D XML

You can export 3DEXPERIENCE products with SolidEdge master to 3D XML, using the Export command or the Export 3D XML batch.

Exportable Content

You can only export 3DEXPERIENCE products with SolidEdge master. You cannot select a family and export it, but they are automatically added to the scope of the export if required.

The following objects of a product structure are exported:

  • SolidEdge Parts
  • SolidEdge Assemblies
  • SolidEdge Drawing
  • SolidEdge Weldment
  • SolidEdge Sheetmetal
  • Attachments

Required Options

When exporting 3DEXPERIENCE content with SolidEdge master, you need to select the following options:

  • Format: Select the 3D XML with authoring option.

    This option does not generate the review part of the content. Exporting 3DEXPERIENCE content with SolidEdge master to the 3D XML for review format is not supported.

  • Completion options: Select the With all representations option.

    The other completion options are not supported with 3DEXPERIENCE content with SolidEdge master.

  • Propagation:
    • With the Export command, select the Whole structure option.
      Note: This option is only available when you export content from a Search workbench.
    • With the Export 3D XML batch, select the All Children option.
  • Import As Reference: Client operation that imports a 3DXML with authoring file in a PLM repository by replicating components in the target repository. The imported data is partially read-only.
  • Import As New for 3DXML with authoring is not supported.

Notes: :
  • With the Export command, the Compatibility mode and With configuration options are not available.
  • With the Export command, you cannot exclude objects, or use the delegation and waive processes. Delegations are not transferred on children automatically.
  • Delegation and waive are only possible in batch mode. These processes are also applied to all the children of the exported product, and to the family and all other products that belong to this family.
    Important:
    • 3DEXPERIENCE content with CAD master exported without delegation can be edited by users in dashboardapps after import. However, they cannot edit it in nativeapps.
    • 3DEXPERIENCE content with SolidEdge master exported without delegation from Site 1 and imported to Site 2 can be edited from Site 2 in SolidEdge.
    • 3DEXPERIENCE content with SolidEdge master exported with delegation from Site 1 and imported to Site 2 can still be edited from Site 1 in SolidEdge.
