Using B.I. Essentials in Coexistence Apps

You can get a consolidated view of which content is being exchanged and identify which site masters the content using Coexistence Information.

Depending on the exchange canal, symbolized by the context, you can quickly control and anticipate their next Coexistence actions, which can either be import, export, change mastership, or delete mapping.

Coexistence facets become essentials as soon as complex round-trip scenarios are introduced, where contents are imported, exported and vice versa. Moreover, large structures can be migrated using multiple transfers, and most of the users want to follow the migration transfer and identify which ones have not been fully transferred to 3DEXPERIENCE. This can be done throughout Coexistence Information.

Before you begin: Open an object in Product Finder.
  1. Do either of the following:
    • From the Action bar, in the Tools section, click B.I. Essentials.
    • From the Compass, click Exchange Management, and in the Coexistence section, select Coexistence Information.
The B.I. Essentials dialog box appears.
  2. Select Coexistence Information in the B.I. Essentials list and manage the different options:

    • Context Information: All Contexts is selected by default. The Context information facet also shows the list of contexts in which data has been exchanged.

    • Mastership Information:

      • All Contexts: Shows the master site of the content (Local if the content is mastered by the local 3DEXPERIENCE site, Distant if the content is mastered by a distant site). Content that has never been exchanged is mastered by the local site.
      • Other: Mastership dealing with current context. The possible values are:
        • V5Master
        • 3DEXPERIENCEMaster
        • No Mapping

    • Exchange Quality: Provides information specific to the representation and to the conversion of streams.

      • All Contexts: blank
      • Other: the conversion mode for content providing streams. The possible values are:
        • Visualization
        • As Result
        • As Specifications

    Notes:
    • The numbers next to each category are the number of 3DEXPERIENCEPLMObjects that are VxMaster.
    • If a CATPart file has been imported through FBDI or if a 3DPart has been exported through DownwardCompatibility, Coexistence Mastership Status is shown on the three related 3DEXPERIENCEPLMObjects:
      • Reference
      • RepInstance
      • Representation
    • To make information labels appear on objects, the shading must be active on either Mastership Information or Exchange Quality facets.
