Export of Knowledgeware Objects

Some 3DEXPERIENCE knowledge objects can be exported to V5 using the Downward Compatibility tool.

To access the Downward Compatibility batch, from the Tools section of the action bar, click Utility. For more information, see Running the DownwardCompatibility Batch and About Downward Compatibility.

3DEXPERIENCE to V5 Data Import Table

The 3DEXPERIENCE to V5 Data Import table describes the export effect on knowledgeware objects that can be translated using the Downward Compatibility tool.

In 3DEXPERIENCE, objects containing EKL cannot be exported to V5 as well as other knowledge objects. Only the features listed in the table below can be exported with restrictions. All other features cannot be exported.

3DEXPERIENCE Data Type Export Effect
Parameters

  • Only user parameters are supported.
  • Exported parameters are locked by default in exported V5 data.
  • If the user parameter is defined and constrained by a relation-like formula, only the value of such a user parameter is exported.

Parameter Sets
Note: The following rule applies:
  • Parameter sets are converted in a "CATBack as result" context.
User Features

The export behavior depends on the type of UDF:

  • Surfacic User Feature: For each user feature, a geometric set is created. This geometric set contains the main input as well as the secondary inputs in the form of a datum and the parameters that are made constant.
  • Solid User Feature: A result is created in the form of a solid datum that corresponds to the main output as well as a geometric set that contains the secondary outputs and the parameters.
