Setting a Capable Resource Position Using the Cumulative Snap Command

You can set the resource position using the Cumulative Snap command from the Track Authoring context toolbar.

  1. Select an item in the tree.

    Note: Alternatively, you can identify a Manufacturing Assembly in the 3D (identified in the ASO).

  2. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Visualize Capable Resource .
    The Visualize Capable Resource dialog box appears listing the capable resources associated to the item.
  3. Select a capable resource in the dialog box.
  4. Activate the display of the selected resource.
    The resource is displayed in the work area (at origin of the product implemented by the item). Mark up is displayed for the resource and the Robot is displayed on the resource.
  5. Drag and drop the Robot onto to a convenient location on the resource for easy manipulation.
    The Robot can be relocated.
  6. Set the resource position using the Robot.
    The new Robot location can be used to set the resource position.
  7. Select Cumulative Snap in the context toolbar.

    Make sure Resource Selection is disabled in App Options.

    The Cumulative Snap dialog box appears.
  8. Select the first geometric feature (axis line) on the resource followed by the second geometric feature on the target (hole axis line).
    The resource snaps to the second geometric feature.
  9. Select the second geometric feature (plane) on the resource followed by the second geometric feature on the target (plane).
    The resource snaps to the second geometric feature.
  10. Close the dialog box.
    The capable resources are no longer displayed in the work area.
