Opening Assembly Evaluation

You can open Assembly Evaluation in a PPR context or in a manufacturing simulation.

Before you begin: Open PPR data in either work plan mode (using PPR context) or simulation mode (by adding the PPR context data to a manufacturing simulation).
Note: This task opens with steps explaining how to add PPR context data to a manufacturing simulation. If you already have a manufacturing simulation created, start here.
  1. Select the Assembly Evaluation app.
  2. Proceed in one of the following ways:
    • To create a manufacturing simulation, go to the next step.
    • To enter the work plan mode, click Activate 3D Simulation .
  3. Select Add > Content.

The New Content dialog box appears.

  4. In the dialog box, open the Simulation type, and click Manufacturing Simulation.
The Manufacturing Simulation dialog box appears.
  5. In the dialog box, modify the simulation name and description if you wish, and click OK.

    The manufacturing simulation is created.

  6. Click Activate 3D Simulation .
    The simulation environment opens.

When you enter Assembly Evaluation, the active simulation object (ASO) is set based on the product. For more information, see Active Simulation Object (ASO).

You are now in the simulation environment of Assembly Evaluation. To exit the simulation environment, click Exit 3D Simulation in the App Options panel.
