Updating a Manufacturing Scenario

You can update a manufacturing scenario that is out-of-date due to design changes in the moving object.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Modify the design of the moving object. The modifications may include a change in dimension or shape, in child parts, or in product origin.

Checking Out-of-date Scenarios and Tracks

You can identify and update manufacturing scenarios that are out-of-date. The updates apply to the scenario and their Tracks.

Important: This functionality is only available for Tracks created or edited since 3DEXPERIENCE R2020x and included in a manufacturing scenario. Otherwise, you can manually edit a Track and update its result, then update the swept volume. For more information, see Updating the Swept Volume after Track Modification.

  1. Open a session containing a manufacturing scenario of the moving object.
  2. From the Verification section of the action bar, click Manufacturing Scenario Update Management .
    A panel appears, listing the status of the manufacturing scenarios and their Tracks according to the Manufacturing Scenario Status B.I.:
    • Out-of-date
    • Up-to-date
    Tip: Click to open the B.I. Essentials panel with the Manufacturing Scenario Status B.I.

    This B.I. is only available through the Manufacturing Scenario Update Management command. It is not available through the Tools > B.I. Essentials command.

  3. From the panel, right-click the out-of-date scenario, then click Update Manufacturing Scenarios and Tracks .
    The manufacturing scenario is updated .

Checking Out-of-date Swept Volumes

You can identify and update the swept volume of an out-of-date scenario.

  1. Open a session containing a manufacturing scenario of the moving object.
  2. Right-click the scenario, then click Force Update from the context menu.
    The scenario is updated . The scenario result is now marked as out-of-date .
  3. Right-click the scenario result, then click Simulate and Generate Results.
    The scenario result is updated . The swept volume is now marked as out-of-date .
  4. Right-click the swept volume, then click Update.
    The swept volume is updated .
