Join Track Operator
You can join two or more Tracks in Workplan, Model Scenario Results (MSR), and Resource modes.
Join Operator Definition
Types of previous Tracks possible:
- Precedence constraints: End-Start
- Synchronization links: Start-start, End-start, and Start-Start with delay
Types of following Tracks possible:
- Precedence constraints: Start-End
- Synchronization links: Start-End and End-End
Join Track in Work Plan Mode
Only the Tracks from the same operation can be joined.
If the Keep Original option is selected:
- The new joined Track is appended last in the operation sequence and a precedence constraint is created with the last ordered Track under the operation.
- The original Tracks remain under the operation with their defined constraints.
If the Keep Original option is not selected:
- The previous Tracks on the first Track are applied as previous Tracks on the joined Track.
- The following Tracks on the last Track are applied as following Tracks on the joined Track.
- All the original Tracks are deleted with their existing constraints (no automatic reconnection for the deleted Tracks).
Below are some examples of Join Result (automatic constraints management) in Workplan mode when the Keep Original option is not selected.
Join Result in MSR and Resource Modes
If the Keep Original option is selected, the result of Join is as follows:
- All the original Tracks remain in the sequence with their defined constraints.
- The joined Track is added under excitation. No instance of this new Track is created and added in any of the existing sequences.
If the Keep Original option is not selected, the result of Join is as follows:
- All the instances of original Tracks in different sequence are deleted with their constraints. (Automatic reconnection holds true in this case.)
- The joined Track is added under excitation. No instance of this new Track is created or added in any sequence.
