Adding a Production System to an Assembly Sequence

You can add a Production System to an assembly sequence.

Before you begin: In 3D Simulation, open content that includes systems and operations in a manufacturing simulation.
  1. From the Simulation section of the action bar, click New Assembly Sequence .
An assembly sequence thumbnail appears in the Excitations panel. The Assembly Sequence Gantt panel opens, initialized with an assembly sequence.
  2. In the Gantt chart, right-click Assembly Sequence and select Add Existing Activity.
  3. Select a system in the tree.
The selected system and it constituent operations are added to the assembly sequence in the Gantt chart.

The selected system is added to the assembly sequence in the tree.

An activity with the same name as the system is created under the Excitations node in the tree.

Notes:
  • Only one production system (referencing an operation or a system) can be added to an assembly sequence.
  • The activity under Excitations for the system is displayed in the Manufacturing Scenario panel when a manufacturing scenario is created or edited.
  • You can delete the activity under Excitations for the system. However, you cannot edit this activity.
  • There is no thumbnail display for this activity in the excitations browser.
  • If there are choreography activities and a production system in the Assembly Sequence Gantt chart, they can be separated. In that case, the Display choreography at the end option must be selected in the the Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Simulation > Manufacturing Process Documentation > Assembly Evaluation > Track tab.
