Detaching and Reattaching the Robot During Track Creation

While creating a track, you can snap a part to coordinates on another part. You can also snap the Robot to a position on the moving part that is different from the default design position.

Before you begin: Load a manufacturing simulation in the 3D Simulation environment.
  1. From the Simulation section of the action bar, click New Track .
The Track Authoring context toolbar appears.
  2. Select the product to move.
The Robot snaps on to the product you selected (if you selected several products, the Robot is attached to the first one you selected). The context toolbar proposes a set of commands for Track authoring and the Experience Player appears.

The Track Authoring dialog box can be accessed by clicking Track Authoring at the right edge of the work area.

  3. Select the Track Properties tab in the Track Authoring dialog box.
The Number of Moving Objects area indicates the number of products you have selected.
  4. Click Detach in the context toolbar.
The Robot is detached from the part. The Attach becomes available in the context toolbar.
  5. Move the Robot on the part so that it is oriented the required way.
  6. Click Attach .
The Robot is attached to the part again in its new position, and can be used to complete track creation. See Recording a Track.
