Generating a Swept Volume in Batch

You can generate a swept volume using a batch in the background of your session. This enables you to keep working in the session while the computation runs.

This action generates the swept volume inside a 3D Shape object in the database. The object is not automatically inserted in the existing data: you need to manually insert it in the Product structure.

You can still edit a Track for which a swept volume is being generated. However, the batch takes into account only the last saved data before you launched computation.

Before you begin: Open a data with a Track on a moving object. Tracks on resources are not supported.
  1. Right-click a Track, then click Track Name > Compute Swept Volume in Batch .
  2. In the dialog box, specify the input parameters for computation.

Important: If you choose to run the computation on a remote machine, the server monitor must be started on the remote machine.

  3. Click OK to validate.
The Batch Management panel appears, indicating the progress of the running batch.
    Tips:
    • You can have several batches running simultaneously.
    • When you minimize the panel, its icon indicates the overall progress:
      • : All the batches are still running.
      • : At least one batch is completed.
      • : All the batches are completed.
  4. After the batch is completed:

    • Click Open batch html report to display a summary of the input parameters and the batch execution.
    • Click Open batch result to open the 3D Shape object containing the swept volume in a new tab.
    • Click Remove batch to remove the batch from the panel.
