Modifying Tracks

You can modify Tracks using a variety of tools such as reordering and reusing Trajectory points (T-Points).

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open data with Tracks already defined. Double-click the Track thumbnail in the Excitations panel.

The Track Authoring dialog box, Experience Player, and Track Authoring context toolbars appear.

Reorder Trajectory Points

You can modify the Track by reordering the Trajectory points (T-Points).

  1. Set the Experience Player to Position and step the Track simulation to the T-Point you want to move (in this case, TPoint6).

The T-Point is highlighted in the Track Authoring dialog box.

  2. Click Move Current T-Point Before Next Selected T-Point and select a T-Point.
The part moves to the new T-Point location and the Experience Player reflects the change.

The Reorder T-Points tab shows the points in their new order but with their original names.

  3. Click OK to save the changes.
    The Track is modified.

Reuse Trajectory Points

You can reuse trajectory reports from the Track you are modifying or from another Track.

  1. Position the object so that it is at the Trajectory point immediately before the point you want to reuse.

  2. Click the point you want to reuse.

A Track segment is created that reuses the T-Point.

Edit a Track Using the Robot

You can move the Track or modify a T-Point using the Robot.

  1. Snap the Robot on the Track to be moved.
  2. Use the Robot to move the Track to its new position.

Note: The anchor position is changed.

  3. Select a T-Point on the Track.
The Robot appears on the T-Point.
  4. Drag the T-Point along an axis to a new position.

In this way, it is possible to quickly modify one or more T-Points on the Track.

Change the Object Moving on a Track

You can add to or change the object moving on the Track.

  1. If you want to add an object to be moved on the Track, select a new object on the geometry area.
  2. If you want the new object to replace the one used to create the Track, click that object.
