Attaching Revisions of References to Folders

You can replace a reference contained in a (non-root) folder with its latest revision or attach the latest revision of the reference to the folder.


Before you begin: You should have worked on the reference you want to replace, or whose latest revision you want to attach.

  1. In the work area, expand the non-root folder structure that contains the reference.
  2. Select the reference of which you want to attach the latest revision, or that you want to replace by its latest revision.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Right-click the selected reference and click Replace by/Insert latest Revision .
    • Right-click the 3D representation of the selected reference and click Replace by/Insert latest Revision .
    • Navigate to the Edit section of the action bar and click Replace by/Insert latest Revision .
    The Reference Revision window opens.
  4. Select either of the following options:
    • Replace selected reference by its latest revision
    • Insert latest revision of selected reference under Father folder.
  5. Click OK.
    If you select Replace selected reference by its latest revision, the reference is replaced by its latest revision in the folder structure and 3D representation.

    If you select Insert latest revision of selected reference under Father folder. the latest revision of the reference is also attached to the folder structure and 3D representation, to the same folder. You can see both representations in the folder structure and 3D representation.

    Notes:
    • The new reference has a suffix (a letter such as A, B, and so on) for identification.
    • If you try to use Replace by/Insert latest Revision on a reference that you have not worked on, you will receive an error message.
