Inserting an Existing Layout Sheet or View

You can insert an existing layout, sheet and view in your model structure.

Important: These elements are mono-instanciable.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > General, select Immersive Chooser. This option allows you to select the layout, the sheet and the view, directly from the tree, in session.

Insert an Existing Layout

You can insert an existing layout in your model structure.

  1. From the tree, select the functional or logical reference in which you want to insert the existing layout.
  2. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Insert Existing Layout .

    A message appears asking you to either:

    • Select an object in the tree or in the work area. A Filter symbol appears under your pointer to let you select the object in the session.
    • Run a query using the Search field. The Search Results panel lets you select the existing object.

  3. From the tree or from a query, select the existing layout you want to insert.

The selected layout is inserted in the tree, under the selected functional or logical reference.

Insert an Existing Sheet

You can insert an existing sheet in your model structure.

  1. From the tree, select the functional or logical reference in which you want to insert the existing sheet.
  2. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Insert Existing Sheet .

    A message appears asking you to either:

    • Select an object in the tree or in the work area. A Filter symbol appears under your pointer to let you select the object in the session.
    • Run a query using the Search field. The Search Results panel lets you select the existing object.

  3. From the tree or from a query, select the existing sheet you want to insert.

The selected sheet is inserted in the tree, under the selected functional or logical reference or layout.

Insert an Existing View

You can insert an existing view in your model structure.

Note: You can set the Schematic_InsertExistingDifView opening ID to define if a diagram view can be instantiated.

  1. From the tree, select the functional or logical reference in which you want to insert the existing view.
  2. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Insert Existing View .

    A message appears asking you to either:

    • Select an object in the tree or in the work area. A Filter symbol appears under your pointer to let you select the object in the session.
    • Run a query using the Search field. The Search Results panel lets you select the existing object.

  3. From the tree or from a query, select the existing view you want to insert.

    Note: Only diagram views containing 2D geomtry can be instantiaed.

The selected view is inserted in the tree, under the selected sheet.
