Autoconnecting Interfaces or Ports

If they are not connected, you can automatically connect interfaces, subflows, subtypes or ports.

Important: This functionality can be applied on interfaces, flow associations and logical ports.

To be connected, those elements must have identical flows or types and compatible directions.

This task shows you how to:

Autoconnecting a Single Functional or Logical Interface/Port

You can automatically connect interfaces, subflows, subtypes or ports.

Before you begin:
  • In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > General > Connection Creation Default Mode, select Interfaces.
  • In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > General > Autoconnect, select the Process sub flow connection option.
  • Create a logical component (L1) with 3 ports In.
  • Create a logical component (L2) with 3 ports Out.

From the tree or from the 2D graph, select L1.

Tip: You can select:
  • A function or a logical component to autoconnect all of its ports
  • One port to automatically connect this port only
  • Several functions or logical components and ports to automatically connect ports within the multiselection
  • Subflows and subtypes

This command connects only objects under the same parent.

Connections are created and displayed in the 2D graph and in the tree.
Notes: If multiple subflow connections are available, the command uses the first unconnected subflow.

If flow expositions are already connected, the command does not connect subflows.
