Creating 2D Snapshot Representation

You can create a 2D snapshot representation of a functional or logical 2D representation. This command is useful when documenting the progress of your product. If you have a license for the Report Generation app, you can also generate a report including 2D snapshots.

This task shows you how to:

Create Snapshot

You can create a snapshot. The scenario is identical for functions and logical components.

  1. In the tree or 2D graph, select a function you want to create the snapshot for.
  2. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Insert New 2D Snapshot Representation .
A message indicates that the 2D graph snapshot (image reference) is created for the selected function.

The snapshot of the selected function is displayed under its selected function in the Functional tree.

  3. Select Share > Save > Save with Options to save the snapshot representation in RFLP structure and database.
The snapshots is stored into the database and is available for use.

View the Content of a Snapshot

You can view the content of a snapshot.

Tip: The snapshot is created with a white background. If the color of the 2D representation is white, the image is useless when using the View Content command. You can change the color in 2D graph for functional and logical objects using Me > Preferences > General > Display > Visualization tab.

  1. To view the content of a snapshot, right-click the snapshot reference in the tree.
  2. Select View Content in the context menu.

Note: The command is also available from the Edition section of the action bar.
