About Ports and Interfaces During a Replace Action

When replacing a functional or logical reference, its ports or interfaces are managed to reroute the connections. The ports or interfaces mapping enables to reconnect the replaced object within its system.

This page discusses:

Interfaces Mapping

Connections on interfaces are rerouted if the Identifiers can be matched.

Size and Position

When replacing the revision of a functional or logical reference with ports or with interfaces, the size and position of the previous revision are applied to the new one.

Configuration mode

In a configured mode, when replacing a reference by another revision, the impacted connections are not rerooted but they are duplicated in every effectivity. This allows you to modify the model in the context of an effectivity without impacting the model in another context. However, these connections are rerooted in specific case, when duplication is unuseful. For example, when an effectivity A will be replaced by an effectivity B at a predefined target date, a replacement in A will reroot the connections in B, instead of duplicating them.
