Displaying 3D Visualization Objects

During the virtual execution of a logical model, you can display 3D visualization objects such as 3D glyphs or Modelica shapes, to better understand the simulation results.

Before you begin:
  • From the Functional & Logical Design app:

Insert a Behavior in an Existing Logical Component

  • From the Dymola Behavior Modeling app:
    • Load the CATIA library.

3D glyphs are stored in the Catia.Visualization package.

    • Load the Modelica Standard Library.

Modelica shapes are stored in the Modelica.Mechanics.Visualizers package.

    • Instantiate 3D glyphs or Modelica shapes and connect them to the logical behavior.
  • Go back to the Functional & Logical Design app.
  1. From the Behaviors section of the action bar, click Execution Setup .
The Execution Setup dialog box appears.
Note: For more information about this dialog box, see Simulation Setup Dialog Box.
  2. Optional: In the General tab, the Content of 3D animation area, select the convenient option:
    • Display Modelica shapes (from Modelica Standard Library) to activate the display of Modelica shapes.
    • Display 3D glyphs (from CATIA Modelica library) to activate the display of 3D glyphs.
  3. From the App Options panel, activate Geometry to display 3D.

To access the App Options panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, select App Options .

  4. Perform the virtual execution by clicking Simulate .

You can visualize the 3D glyphs or Modelica shapes in the 3D animation.
