The VOF method is an Eulerian algorithm that predicts the location of the interface between the two fluids, also known as the "free-surface." The app solves an advection equation to track the location of the interface. When you define a VOF section, you specify one fluid as the reference fluid and the other as the secondary material. The distinction matters when you define material properties. You must specify a surface tension coefficient for the reference fluid if surface tension effects are considered in your simulation. In addition, you must define the wall adhesion option to consider capillary flow effects. |
