Defining Rigid Body Section Properties

You can define a rigid body section to specify a body's mass, inertia, and center of gravity as it interacts with the fluid flow.

  1. From the Properties section of the action bar, click Rigid Body Section .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select a geometry support.
  4. Specify the Mass of the body.
  5. Specify the X-, Y-, and Z-coordinates of the center of gravity in the CGX, CGY, and CGZ boxes, respectively. These coordinates define the center of gravity with respect to the axis system you specify later in the process.
  6. Specify the six values for the rotational inertia of the body, taken with respect to the center of gravity. If a principal moment of inertia (IXX, IYY, and IZZ) is set to zero, the body is restricted to rotate in the corresponding direction.
  7. Specify the axis system for the rigid body section.
  8. Click OK.
