Creating a Pocket

Pocket creates a pocket based on a simple profile and usually having side walls and a bottom. It also has an inner protected volume, which means that no other volumes in the same body can penetrate this area.

  1. A pocket requires a closed planar profile. Select the profile defining the shape of the pocket.

    Tip: If no profile is defined, click Positioned Sketch to sketch the profile.

  2. Prism is the default shape. You can also select Sweep . The direction of a pocket always goes from the inside to the outside of the body.
  3. In the Floor and Opening tabs set the parameters and options.
  4. Click Reverse Direction .
  5. Select the Clearance volume check box.
  6. In the Draft tab, specify draft parameters.
  7. In the Fillet tab, specify fillet parameters.
  8. To define the wall, set one of the two options available from the Type list.
