Working with Ribs and Posts

Creating a Post

Rib creates conical ribs created from non-construction point entities contained in the selected profiles sketch, known as posts.

  1. In the Profile/Surface box of the Rib.x dialog box, select a sketch containing a number of points in the geometry.
  2. Under First Limit, in the Length box, enter the value.
  3. In the Posts tab, select the Create Posts at points check box.
  4. In the Diameter box, enter a value to define the rib post diameter which must be greater than zero.
  5. In the Taper angle box, enter an angular value.

The taper angle applies to each rib post. A non-zero angle results in the post taking the geometric form of a truncated cone.

  6. From the Reference list, select First Limit.
  7. Click Limits and in the First Limit tab, from the Type list, select To Plane/Surface.
