Creating a Rib

Rib adds strength to a shelled body. The material is added to the inside of material volumes that it intersects.

  1. In the Profile/Surface box, select a sketch or a surface.

    Tip: If no profile is defined, click Positioned Sketch to sketch the profile.

  2. Set the parameters and options to define the shape .
  3. Set one of the available options from the Extension type list to define the extension type .
  4. From the Type list, select Enter thickness to define a thin pad.
  5. In the Thickness box, enter a thickness value.
  6. Select the Neutral fiber check box.
    The Neutral fiber check box adds the same thickness to both sides of the profile.
  7. in the Fillet tab, select First radius and enter a value.

    Important: You can select the Draft fillets check box. .
