About Inserting a Solid Functional Set

A solid functional set contains functional features. This topic provides information on creating solid functional sets.

At different stages of your design, you can create different solid functional sets (SFSs).

First Functional Feature

When you create the first functional feature, a solid functional set is created automatically.

You can create the required number of solid functional sets to create a 3D shape representation.

Note: A solid functional set cannot contain ordered geometrical sets (OGSs).

Non-Hybrid Design: Before you create a feature, select Me > Preferences > Common Preferences > Object Properties > 3D Shape > Infrastructure > Hybrid Design tab, and clear the Enable hybrid design inside part bodies and bodies check box to activate non-hybrid mode.

For details about hybrid design, see the Part Design User's Guide.

For details about Enable hybrid design, see Hybrid Design.

Functional Features and Local Modifiers in the Tree

Local modifiers are aggregated under their targets in the tree. If a local modifier acts on more than one feature, the local modifier node is present under the nodes all features that it modifies. Consequently, if you select the local modifier under one feature, all occurrences of the local modifier node are selected. The sketch or input profile node is present under the feature node above the local modifier nodes.
