Defining Extraction Properties

You can define an extraction properties feature for later use in a core extraction feature and a cavity extraction feature. It allows you to define whether the protected volumes of the 3D shape representation should contribute to the output of a subsequent core extraction feature or to the output of a subsequent cavity extraction feature.

Note: Depending on your role, you may not have access to this functionality.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation.
  1. Right-click on the functional body for which you need to create the extraction properties. Select Define In Work Object.
    The extraction properties feature being created will belong to the functional body of the In Work Object.
  2. From the Object Properties panel, click Extraction Properties .
    The Extraction Properties.x dialog box appears. The features that have protected volumes are listed.
  3. Select one of these features and click the left arrow to move it into the Core column.
  4. Click OK to create the extraction properties feature.
    Extraction Properties.x has been added in the tree.
