Creating Technological Results

You can create a technological results using the Create Technological Results command. It supplies technological information about the features included in a body which can be reused at any stage of your design by downstream apps such as Generative Drafting .

Generate the Technological Results for the Functional Hole

To generate technological results, you need to apply the command to a body.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation containing two holes.
Right-click the body Body.x and select Body.x.object > Create Technological Results to generate technological results for the 3D shape

The technological information which the capability can generate is:

  • Hole information
  • Thread information

The app creates a Technological Results node for this body. This node contains itself two nodes, one for the hole, one for the thread/tap.

Important: You cannot edit this node. You can rename it using Properties or delete it.

Generate the Technological Results for the Hole Locally Modified by a Functional Transformation or Pattern

You can generate technological results for the hole which is locally modified by a functional transformation or pattern.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation containing patterned holes.
Right-click PartBody and select PartBody > Create Technological Results.
The technological results for the 3D shape are contained in the Technological Results node.

Generate the Technological Results for the Mixed Structure (Part Design and Functional Plastic Parts)

Technological results are also generated for the Part Design bodies that contain some Part Design holes and used by a functional specification. It can also be generated for the bodies that contain functional holes and reused by Part Design features (add, pattern).

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape containing mixed structure with Part Design and functional features.
Right-click PartBody and select PartBody > Create Technological Results.
Technological results of Part Design holes in a body used as an input of a functional feature are contained in the Technological Results node.
