Defining a Translation

You can translate a functional feature from one point to another along a vector.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation containing functional features..

About Transform Features
  1. From the Transform section of the action bar, click Translation .
  2. In the features to transform box of the Translate.x dialog box, select the feature(s) to be translated.


  3. Select one of the following options to define the translation vector.
    OptionDescription
    Direction, distance Specify the direction and the distance (scalar) for the translation vector.
    Point to point Specify the start point and end point for the vector.
    Coordinates Specify coordinates of the end point for the vector.
    Note: In this case, origin is considered as the start point for the vector.
  4. Specify the required parameters depending upon the option selected in step 3.
