You can create a hole on a non-planar face. The associativity is
ensured so that if you modify the face, the location of the hole is modified
accordingly.
Before you begin: Create a shellable prism with a non-planar face and then create a
point on this face.
Select the point to locate the
hole and the non-planar face on which you want to
create this hole.
This operation creates a coincidence
constraint between the point and the center of the
hole.
From the Manufacture section of the action bar, click Hole
.
The Hole.x dialog box appears. The app creates a plane which is tangent to the selected face at the selected point.
This plane is used as a support for the positioning sketch.
Select one of the following hole types and enter the required
parameters:
Option
Hole Type
Simple hole
Tapred hole
Counter bored hole
Counter sunk hole
Counter drilled hole
Click
OK.
The hole is created. The plane tangent to the face is not visible
in the
work area,
but appears in the
tree.
You cannot edit it.
Modify the location of the point.
The hole is moved accordingly.
Note:
If you select the face and then create a point by clicking on
the face, the point is not constrained but
associativity is ensured between the hole and the
face.
Important:
When handling power copies do not use holes on non-planar surfaces as
input data. It is not possible to instantiate
these element types.
