Filtering Causality Relationships

You can filter FMEA tables by symptoms or by only showing ambiguous causality relationships.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: The template associated with the FMEA table must contain symptoms.

Filter by Symptoms

You can refine causality relationships, which contain specific symptoms.

  1. In the 6WTags panel , expand the What tag.
A list of symptoms appears in the panel.
  2. Select one or more tags.
In the FMEA table, only causality relationships, which have at least one symptom in the set of selected symptoms are shown.

Highlight Ambiguity Groups

You can refine causality relationships to highlight groups of ambiguities.

  1. To choose a causality relationship, select its failure mode.
  2. Click Filter Ambiguity Group.
If a group of ambiguities exists, the number of causality relationships is refined depending on the visibility of symptoms when the failure mode occurs.
