About Advanced Templates

Depending on the templates, you applied to the FMEA tables, you can have a specific display or other add-ons available in the tables.

Some advanced templates can, for example, apply validation rules, style sheets, formulas, tiles rendering, and descriptions for attributes with a list of authorized values.

Note: If a template is invalid, a notification is raised and the details are logged in the console.

Validation rules

Some validation rules can be applied to FMEA tables and can return warnings and errors.

An icon appears in the header cell of the line, if any rules are violated for a causality relationship. For more information about the violation, hover over the icon.

If a validation rule is not found or cannot be evaluated, an error notification is raised and the details are logged in the console.

Note: In the 6WTags panel , if you expand the Why tag, errors and warnings are listed. You can filter FMEA tables by selecting errors or warnings.
Applying formulas

The evaluation of formulas automatically completes or completes on demand, the content of the cells. For more information, see Refreshing Computed Attributes.

If a formula is not found or cannot be evaluated, an error notification appears and the details appear in the console.

Sorting columns

An automatic sort on columns can be defined in the template, otherwise you can manually sort columns.

Initializing tables

An initialization of FMEA tables is possible by evaluating a customized algorithm associated with a template.

Defined rules are applied at the first opening of a table. For example, tables can be initialized and contain a causality relationship for each failure mode of each function of the system.

Note: If the table or the template contains errors, some notifications appear and the initialization fails.

Suggesting values

A template can enable the suggestion of values, when completing a table.

If suggested values are computed for an editor, when completing the related cell in a column, these suggested values are proposed in a list.

Note: If the template contains errors, notifications appear.

Generating failure modes

A template can contain a list of failure modes. It lets you generate failure modes, if possible.

For more information, see Generating Failure Modes.

Defining logical groups

A template can enable the definition of logical groups in a causality relationship for columns containing objects.

Managing attributes on occurrences

A template can enable the display and editing of attributes on occurrences in columns or tiles.
