Importing from XML

You can import an XML file to later associate FMEA tables with subcomponents or to recover the updated content of FMEA tables.

Import Using Command

You can import an XML file using a command.

  1. To import from XML, click either:
    • Import from XML , from the Exchange section of the action bar
    • Import from XML, from the home page
  2. In the Open dialog box, select the XML file to be imported and click Open.
    Notifications appear in the navigator and a log file is downloaded.
  3. Refresh the navigator page.
    In the widget:

    • FMEAs are created in the Structure Tree. They are associated with the subcomponents from which an export file has been generated.

      Note: If the FMEAs already exist, they are updated with the new content.

    • FMEA tables corresponding to the content of the XML file appear.

      Note: If the FMEA table was previously opened, it is updated.

Import Using Drag

You can import an XML file using the drag operation.

  1. Drag an XML file from your file explorer into the work area.
    Notifications appear in the navigator and a log file is downloaded.
  2. Load the system that was used when the export was performed.
    In the widget:

    • FMEAs are created in the Structure Tree. They are associated with the subcomponents from which an export file has been generated.

      Note: If the FMEAs already exist, they are updated with the new content.

    • FMEA tables corresponding to the content of the XML file appear.

      Note: If the FMEA table was previously opened, it is updated.
