More about Selecting Faces

In our scenario above, as the Chain Faces box is checked, the app includes propagated faces in the selection. This is why the Selected Objects box shows a list of several faces. All selected faces are highlighted in the work area.

The app displays textual indications in the geometry to help identify all selected faces or edges.

Clearly, some of these faces do not belong to the shaft, which would make the recognition fail if you clicked OK to confirm the operation. Actually, at this point you can choose between three options. You can:

  • Deselect the faces that do not belong to the groove by selecting them in the work area
  • Deselect the faces by selecting them in the Selected Objects box, and then using the RemoveSel contextual command .
  • Remove the whole selection using the RemoveAll contextual command, then clear the Chain Faces box, and then manually select all the faces belonging to the groove.
