Working With Design Tables

You can use external resources such as Design Table or xml files to customize or standardize the application. The resource that can be associated to the project and used in the application can contain a set of design tables for each function. Several design tables can be added to the resource set for the same function.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: A function is being created and its dialog box is open.

Use an Existing Design Table

You can edit an existing design table aggregated under the function.

  1. Click .
  2. Edit the design table.

Instantiate a Design Table

You can select or instantiate a design table providing associated resources from the Project Resources Management workbench already exist.

Instantiate a Design Table Using a Unique Resource

You can select the design table from a list.

  1. Click .
  2. Launch the Resources dialog chooser command to select the design table from a list.
    The design table is instantiated and valuated by the resource file. Each column of the created design table is then automatically associated to a function parameter of the current feature. The created design table is then aggregated under the current feature and can be used like any other design table.

Instantiate a Design Table Using Several Resources

You can instantiate and associate a design table.

  1. Click .
  2. Instantiate and associate the design table with function parameters.

Note: If the selected resource file contains several lines, the design table will contain several configurations and you will be able to select one of them by editing the design table.

Launch Content Chooser

If no design table and no resource already exist, you can launch the Content Chooser command to search and select a design table.

  1. Click .
  2. Launch the Content Chooser command.
  3. Instantiate and associate the design table with function parameters.

Important: You can use the contextual menu to activate, deactivate, remove or publish current parameters values in the design table.
