Creating 2D Profiles

You can create a various 2D profiles on a location plane and direction using commands from the context menu.


Before you begin: A functional set has been created.
  1. Click 2D Profile .
  2. Select a point.
    A context toolbar is displayed.
  3. Move the mouse over the first icon to display the full toolbar:
  4. Select the desired profile:
    • Round Profile: select the center point, normal direction and diameter.

    • Slot Profile: select the center point, normal direction, orientation direction, length and width.

    • Square Profile: select the center point, normal direction, orientation direction, length and corner radius.

    • Rectangle Profile: select the center point, normal direction, orientation direction, length, width and corner radius.

    Note: For each input, default values are the following:
    • Normal Direction: xy plane (z direction)
    • Orientation Direction: yz plane (x direction)
    • Length: 20mm
    • Width: 10mm
    • Corner Radius: 0mm
    • Diameter: 20mm

    In the work area, each input is previewed though 3D flags (indicating the selected point, the normal direction and the orientation direction) and 3D arrows (indicating the normal direction and the orientation direction). You can click a 3D flag to modify the value or an arrow to reverse the selected direction.

  5. Move the pointer over the immersive toolbar to modify the profile type.
  6. Click to cancel the creation of the 2D profile or to validate it.
    The xxx Profile.x (xxx corresponding to the type of profile just created) is added to the tree and aggregated under the surfacic functional set and is located just after the created function.

    Note: This capability is also available using the context menu on the Input Profile in the Stamp Function, Diabolo Function and Hole Function commands.
