About Spot Fastener Assembly with Secondary Instances

To create a spot fastener assembly with secondary reference, select Add > Content. There is no specific information to enter about secondary instances. For more information, see Creating Fastener References.

Primary references are created with no secondary references.

To instantiate secondary fasteners, select Create Spot Fastener . Clicking adds the components of the primary reference as stacking parts.

When instantiating a secondary fastener in a primary reference, you must specify the following:

• Position
• Components of the primary fastener to fasten
• Virtual information about the stacking parts to fasten. These parts are the stacking parts of the primary fastener instance that are selected when instantiating the primary fastener reference.
• Fastener reference

Selecting a component selection creates a virtual stacking that is then automatically added by default.

To define additional virtual stackings for secondary instances, click .

When instantiating a spot fastener assembly with secondary fastener instance, selecting the reference displays the stacking of secondary instances in the instantiation dialog box. For each secondary instance, one column is displayed. First and Second represent secondary instances:

You can position secondary fasteners by selecting points.

Select as many points as the number of secondary instances requires, and then select the reference you need. A secondary bundle is automatically created, and then secondary instances are created under it.

Important: You can create only one secondary bundle under the primary reference. When instantiating a secondary fastener, if a primary reference already contains a secondary bundle, then the existing secondary bundle and the corresponding fastening components information are automatically fetched.
